Dear Mr. Hunt,

Thank you for acknowledgement about the decision of the World Sailing Board in the matter of sailing events in Crimea. It is very important for us to get the support of the International Sailing Governing body in this delicate issue.
As you already know, Sailing Federation of Ukraine declared the Russian National Championship in Optimist, Cadet and Zoom 8 Classes as prohibited event and informed all interested parties well in advance. Despite our announcement Russian Sailing Federation decided to hold the Championship in Sevastopol from 8 till 15 September 2017. We observed all official documents of this event and found that WS International Judge Sergey Kuzovov is appointed as the Head of Protest Committee of the regatta.
From our point of view Sergey Kuzovov acting as a head of Protest Committee of the prohibited event shows inadequate conduct and does not support the policies of World Sailing and further its objectives, rules and regulations.
